How to run Ghosty

Ghosty is a small desktop pet made by an independent developer. Because the program is new and not yet code-signed, Windows may show a SmartScreen or security warning when you first open it. This is normal for unsigned apps.

Steps:

1. Download Ghosty.zip and extract the folder.
2. Open the extracted folder and find Ghosty.exe.
3. Right-click Ghosty.exe → Properties.
4. At the bottom, under Security, check the box that says Unblock.
5. Click Apply → OK.
6. Double-click Ghosty.exe to start it.

You do not need to turn off Windows Defender or any other antivirus.

If Windows still blocks it, click More info → Run anyway.

This version:

• Removes the “Defender is wrong / it is 100% safe” language
• Drops the Bonzi Buddy reference
• Explains the Unblock step as a normal Windows thing for new unsigned programs
• Sounds like a regular indie project instead of something arguing with security tools
